World Health Day 2024: My Health, My Right

World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on April 7. The day was first celebrated in 1950 to raise awareness of health issues around the world. The day also marks the anniversary of the World Health Organisations (WHO) founding.

The theme for this year’s World Health Day 2024 is 'My health, my right’. Around the world, the right to health of millions is increasingly coming under threat. This year’s theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services.

Despite significant progress made in malaria, other vector-borne diseases (VBDs) and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) continue to lead in morbidity and mortality globally. We cannot allow half of the world population to continue suffering from these preventable and treatable diseases. We call on the partners, advocates, communities, world leaders, decision-makers, philanthropies to join in the fight against malaria, VBDs, NTDs and save millions of lives.
